3. Q: What is the properties of aluminum 6063?

A: 6063 aluminum is a low-alloyed Al-Mg-Si high-plasticity alloy with excellent processing properties, excellent weldability, extrudability and electroplating properties, good corrosion resistance, toughness, easy to polish, color film, anode It has excellent oxidation effect and is a typical extruded alloy.

6063 aluminum has many valuable features: heat treatment strengthening, high impact toughness, and insensitive to notches. It has excellent thermoplasticity, and can be extruded into complex, thin-walled, hollow profiles at high speed, or forged into complex forgings. After processing, the surface is very smooth and easy to anodize and color. The quenching temperature range is wide, and the quenching sensitivity is low. After extrusion and forging demoulding, as long as the temperature is higher than the quenching temperature, it can be quenched by water spraying or water penetration. Excellent welding performance and corrosion resistance, no stress corrosion cracking tendency. Among the heat-treatable aluminum alloys, the Al-Mg-Si series alloy is the only alloy that has no stress corrosion cracking phenomenon. The disadvantage is that after quenching, if it is parked at room temperature for a period of time, it will have an adverse effect on the strength (parking effect) in terms of aging.
