Surface treatment of Teflon

The non-stick coating in the general sense refers to Teflon (PTFE,

polytetrafluoroethylene), which has the best hydrophobicity. It can be understood as a kind of plastic, which is stable below 260 degrees Celsius, and the temperature will not exceed this temperature when using household cooking oil for frying. Therefore, it is safe and non-toxic under the premise that the bottom of the pot is not burned out, and there is no problem with eating the peeled coating. The reactants used in the production of Teflon have a certain degree of toxicity, not Teflon itself. In recent years, the process has matured to ensure that the reactants are eluted from the coatings that leave the factory.
